5 Healthy and quick Indian breakfast recipes.
Overnight Oats :
To prepare this recopies, in a bawl take 2 cup of milk or almond milk add 1.5 cup of rolled oats , add chia seed, nuts of your choice and a pinch of cinnamon powder. Now mixed it properly and cover it and refrigerate it overnight, in the morning add some honey and have it with a slice of banana or any other seasonable fruits.
Dosa :
To prepare Dosa, take 1 cup rice, half cup of black spit gram (Urad dal) and same fenugreek seed (methi) in a bowl and soak them (rice,urad dal, methi seed) separately for 6 to 7 hours.
Next grind the rice and black spit gram with fenugreek seed separately into a fine paste using a grinder or mixer. Use water to keep the paste smooth. Mixed the rice and gram paste in a bowl, add some salt and keep it in warm place for fermentation for atlest 8 hours once it is fermented add some water to paste but it should not be thin.
Now in non sticky pan. Grease it with some ghee or oil, pour the paste in the center of the pan and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin circle. Now cook it in till the edges are golden brown. Flip it and cook for 2 minutes or until the other side is cooked. Now serve it with coconut cutney or any other dish of your choice.
Poha:
The recipe for making Poha
Ingredient :
- 1 cup of Poha (Fllatened Rice),
- 1 small chopped onion, potato and tomato
- 2 – 3 pieces of chopped green chilli
- Half teaspoon of mustard seed, turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin seeds
- Some salt,
- 1 teaspoon of oil or ghee
- Fresh chopped coriander leave for garnishing
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Firstly raise the poha with some clean water for few minutes and drain the water and set aside. Now heat a pan and add oil or ghee to it. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter. After that add chopped onion , green chili and wait till the onion is turned into golden brown and add turmeric powder, chili powder and chopped tomatoes and salt and cook it for 3-5 minutes until the tomatoes are cooked.
Now add raised poha into it ,mixed it well and cooked for 5 minutes. Now take it to a bowl add fresh green coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon juice. Your home made poha is ready.
Green Salads:
Ingredient:
1 cucumber, 1 onion, 1 tomato, 1 carrot, 1 beet, 1-2 fresh green chili, pink salt as per your taste and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
Now chop the Cucumber, Tomato, Carrot, beet and chili into fine small pieces. Now take all the chopped veges into a bowl and mixed it well, add some pick salt into it and add lemon juice to it. Your healthy salad is ready.
Chilla:
Chilla is one of the most popular Indian dish.
Ingredents:
- 1 cup of Besan (Gram Flour)
- ½ cup of water
- 1 onion and some green chili finely chopped
- 1-2 teaspoon of oil or ghee
- ½ spoon of turmeric powder, chilli powder and cumin powder.
- Salt as per your taste.
Now in a bowl take besan add water and salt to it and make it in a form of smooth paste. Leave it for 10 – 15 minute and add chopped onion, chili, turmeric powder, chili powder, cumin powder and mixed it gently.
Now place non sticky pan over medium flame, pour oil or ghee and pour paste prepared in the center of the pan and spared it in round shape cook it for 3-4 minute or until the edges start to lift up and flip it to another side and cook for another 3-4 minutes, repeat it till both side are golden brown. Now serve it with tomato chutney or ketchup.
